decided to make the most of all this rain, so I went looking for some actives but came up with some cool inactives. I live north of seattle.

found these at a local park in a forest of alders, (i was looking for cyans)

growing in fertile grass, any guess to what these are?

shaggy mane perhaps

another

This was in august when i found this beauty on a hike in the cascades. I believe its a death cap.

same hike. giant boletus

can someone put this into mushroom hunting (not ID)

On the first two we'd need spore prints to be able to ID them with any accuracy.

The third one looks to be something from Lepiota. If the spore print is greenish then it's a pretty nasty poison (as Mitchnast mentioned). In the PNW you also have a very similar Lepiota (L. brunnea) with a white spore print that's poisonous that can be identified by the flesh turning brown within a few seconds when the mushroom is cut open. It's not lethal, but it will cause a pretty good stomach upset.

That next one is indeed an Amanita, but we need to see under the cap to start with the subgenus. Specifically, you need to check and see if there's a ring under there. The degree of striation of the cap suggests to me that there was no ring, in which case that is probably one of the species near A. volvacea, not the deadly A. phalloides.

That last one looks just like a typical Boletus edulis looks here in Colorado.

Happy mushrooming!

indeed toxicman, it its a L. brunnea. white print and instant browning, it is quite cool. Although I wish it could have been the green printing lepotia because it would just be cool looking. i want to frame it and put it on my wall.
