The only time I make a bed is when I am a guest.

What does this have to do with spirituality or philosophy?

My bed is really a cautch with no arm-holding-thingies that can be stretched into a wide bed, the sheets and blankets go in the compartment inside the cautch when it is transformed back into a cautch

Yes, mostly because a neat bed has a dramatic effect on the overall tone of the room, and likewise with a disheveled bed. Partially because I was taught to do so from an early age.

But making my bed for me, really just consists of flapping the cover-blanket over the bed in its normal position. The pillows are more or less stationary, and the blanket is the only free-standing cover that I use.

Neat beds promote mites.

I could never make my bed to my mom's satisfaction, so now I don't even try.

no way man...why make your bed just to sleep in it again and mess it all up? Seriously. Someone explain it to me.

It brings a comforting familiarity to the day? A grounding in normalcy in the morning? Fear of a beating from mother? If that special person comes by they will be impressed with your assimilation into decent/proper living? OCD? Aesthetically pleasing?

Can't seem to find a reason. And it's been shown in a recent study that a made bed promotes little buggy creatures that bite your butt. I say air it out.

It's healthier not to make your bed. This is true.

no, simply because a messy bed is more comfortable than a tidy one. Plus even if I make it look neat, it's still dirty...

and I'm lazy.

oh, but I do make my bed on only two occasions: When I just got done cleaning my entire room, and the bed is the only messy thing left (if the room is clean and the bed isn't, it just looks inconsistant). And the other occasion is if there is going to be a girl in it that I want to impress (in which case I'll clean my whole room first and THEN make my bed. So I guess it's only on one occasion, LOL!)
