and it fuckin sucked. so i have my old car that my dad is letting me use since my pos is a pos. well today i was on I-80 and the thing just gave up on me and went dead so i rolled to the side and let it sit and tried to start it again and it would start and then go off. so i pop the hood and there is no oil in the thing so i am just like great i locked up the engine. so i call my dad and ask him when the last time he checked it was and he goes "i dunno". so i was able to get it to start somehow and made it to the auto store and got some oil for the fucker and i thought i was home free since the lights went off and it was ok. so i am home for about an hour and then i get ready to go run some arrons and the thing quits on me about 1mile away from my house. the ABS light blinks and when i try to start it it goes on then off right away. now what i THINK is the prob is that i locked the engine up but i have no clue. anyone have any theories? and also if anyone knows anything about cars i would love to have someone come over and fix it. i cant really give you anything, unless you want some salvia i have left (just under a g) or some spore prints i have left over from when i grew back in the day. i am just really glad its the weekend and i am already home from work cause this sucks dick. it will prob start if i go try it in a little bit but i want it fixed =(

That sucks man, I've had my car break down during good times too.
My starter gave out when I was renting some movies and I lived a hell of a long way away. At least I called my dad and he helped me get a new one put in.
Hope you get it fixed man!

Aww man, that sucks! I just had to get some new gaskets for my transmission, because it was dumping tranny fluid as soon as I would put it in. Also, my power steering belt was squealing like a bitch. It was very annoying. Hope your engine isn't locked up, but I don't think that it would even have turned over once, if it was, so maybe it's something more minor.

well i know it wasnt from the oil. i know its bad but i know its not locked. it turns over but 1sec after that the whole car turns off. it still may be the engine but it doesnt look like it.

You don't know any mechanic friends? I have a friend that is a great mechanic that owns a shop about 10 blocks from here. I am lucky, though.

i do but they are at school right now. and my cousin, who is a mechanic, is not answering is cell phone. i should be ok its just pissing me off. also, if i do get ahold of my friend they all live really far from me so it will be hard to get them to come out here to look at a car that they have no clue as to whats wrong with it yet. but i will try my best and buy them beer for tonight. i think my new neighbor might no something. i saw him tinkering with his car the other day. when he gets home from work i will have to see if he can help.

ya it pays great $10/hr plus time and a half for anyday i work more than 5hrs plus great benefits. plus they hire from within so if i cant get the ball rolling on the career i want i will always have this to fall back on. ilove the hours also.
but anyway. i just talked with my cousin and he says it sounds like it could be a kill switch for the ABS. but he says he would have to wait till next week before he could come look at it so i am calling around right now to see if someone can do something before that.

Definatly have a buddy tow it for you, it's dangerous but can be fun at the same time.
I'd suggest having a couple people you think might know a thing or two come look at it first. When my car died I got 3 different opinions on what it was, and finally we figured out it was the starter, and got it fixed right up. Taking it in would have cost me an arm and a leg.

if you froze your engine you wouldnt have been able to turn it back on and itd be smoking like a bastard. the only lights youd see would be a fire.
It really doesnt sound like you seized the engine, especially if you can get it to start up again.. i guess the best way to say it is if you seized it you would know, not be guessin.
hard to say tho with the info you give. could be many diffrent things

mmm... check your engine mounts (see if you can rock the engine back and forth) and then look at your wiring connections. If an engine mount is broke, the motor could be pulling a wire loose when it cranks.
