Storing Spores.....
    #4634710 - 09/08/05 06:37 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

I had a quick question about storing spore prints. Sense no one seamed to care in the Pud. I'm Hoping "Mushroom Cultivation" will be more Caring . I actually have a B+ spore print that I obtained about 2 months ago. But it was given to me on a piece of foil, and I've had it in the frig for about two months. I know that spores in a syringe can last for 18 months ( 5 yrs. if stored in a cool dark spot) But those are in liquid. Which will lead me to my question.... Is its still good?

From what i understand spore prints last even longer than syringes. Spore prints can last indefinitly as long as they are dry. But you do have to make a syringe and that means there is risk of contams unlike if you buy a syringe from Ralphsters or Sporeworks (even then there is a risk but they reimburse you ;P). But that isn't your problem, my answer is too long. Yes. there you go.

Thats not nes true. You dont have to use spore syringes to inoculate. You can Inoculate a substrait with fresh viable spores.
