Shroom Storage

What is the best way to store shrooms after they have been picked and dried. I've read numerous ways to store them, either in a zip lock bag, a zip lock bag in the fridge, a brown paper bag, a brown paper bag in the fridge, in a air tight jar, & and air tight jar in the fried. To me I think it will lose potency if it's chilled/frozen where it drops below room temperature and then exposed to room temperature again. Any suggestions would help.

I have no experience in it, but I think thaht if it's totaly dry (so no more water, even a molecule :p )it should not lose potency. In fact, no water means no crystals of ice that hurt the shroom. The psilocybin is oxydizes by O?, so if your shrooms are completly dry in a zip lock in the freezer : no air (O?), no heat (that accelerate the oxydation) and no ice crystals (that break the structure and get more psylicibin in air)

really depends on long you plan on keeping them.

fresh...in a brown paper bag in the frig for a few days.

dried...in a ziplock bag for short term storage.

dried...in a large jar with some packets of desiccant should last longer.

dried...and put into food saver vaccum sealed bags...would last a long time.

You can get perfect little packets of desiccant at pretty much any pharmacy for free. They come in the medicine vials. Just ask the pharmacist for a bunch, they throw out hundreds a week. I'm lucky, my wife works in a pharmacy, so I don't have to ask :grin:

hehe I wish I had enough shrooms that I would have to store them. Mine are usually all gone and given away in a few min after drying.
