    #4633369 - 09/08/05 12:07 PM (12 years, 15 days ago)

well, you guys were right.. Pet store humidity gauges suck... mine said i was at 95% ... it lied.. my hygrometer says i was at 55% and temp was 81 ... well, this morning im at 66% and 77.1 degrees... any ideas how to raise humidity ? i was gonna use a jar with water and put an air stone in it to raise humidity and air exchange... also, any ideas how to lower my temp to 70-75 .. i wanna kinda be a little cheap im outta cash for the time...

yeah man, i got humidity everywhere and my meter says 75%, i need a digital. i would spray to raise humidity and seal with saran wrap. don't lower the temp until the humidity is sufficiently raised.

i understand the perlite will work .. i just wondered if i took a jar of water with an air stone in it with air pump hooked up.. would that make more humidity? i know it would increase air exchange ... but wanna know if it will add enough humidity to raise humidity from 66% that i have now to 90%.... also, any ideas on how to lower temps in a green house?

yeah it should work, I do the same thing, just add some h2o2 to your water to filter the air and keep things clean. If rh still isnt high enough just use a bigger jar or tub(ie make sure there is more surface area of water. Dunno bout lowering temps, u can try using a fan in the green house or look up making a natural air con. They are made from using normal bricks which sit on a layer of water. Easy and inexpensive. Hope that helps.

anyone have any ideas on how to lower temps in a green house.. my temps now are at 77.1 and the room temp is at 75... tried doing a search on google for natural air conditioner but no luck.. i was thinking if i take some copper tubing and make some circles on the bottom of the green house and run that to a ruber maid filled with ice water and a pump to pump the water through the copper.. it may work as a air conditioner and thoughts?
