a couple of questions about the magical fruits.
    #4632316 - 09/08/05 12:46 AM (12 years, 3 months ago)

im quite a novice at this game and have a few ?'s. does "attached gills" mean attached to the outer rim of the cap? or to the stem? or something else entirely? furthermore, do all psilocybin-containing shrooms bruise? if not, do the ones that do bruise all turn the same colour? is there any special part of the shroom that is best to look for bruising? is there any practical way to test for the presence of psilocybin in shrooms? i've heard that scoring the mushroom with something made of silver will cause a reaction of some sort. hit me back. peace! :mushroom2: :mushroom2: :mushroom2: :mushroom2:

no they don't all bruise. the species that have a good quantity of psilocin all bruise blue. but some unrelated toxic mushrooms bruise blue as well.

stem, base of stem, gills

no, there is no field test for psiloc(yb)in.

the silver thing is a myth.
