Does blue always=potent?

Has anyone had any shrooms that didn't blue when picked or touched but were still potent or you had a nice ride on?

Bluing = Oxidation of pysilobyn(sp?)...

Doesn't mean it's more potent necessarily, it does mean however that you're losing potency on some scale.

I used to think there wasn't a correlation, but now I do. In my experience using Whole grain rice, RYE and WBS, my shrooms hardly ever blued, if at all. They were all decent potency wise, but not terrific. Horse manure cubes always bruise blue, and have never disappointed in the potency arena whatsoever. (re: really strong)

So I'd have to say that non-bluing cubes have the potential to be decent, but obvious bluing seems to be a guaranteed good ride, or at least in my experience.

ive found wild cubes before that got super blue but were very weak, but maybe thats because they oxidized easily?

if anything use blueing as a indicator of species and not that of potentcy.

Not sure of spelling so I'll abbreviate but Pann. Subbalteatus are not too bad and they don't bruise... but they are small and you need quiet a few. But still almost as potent by weight... and definitely different than the average cube.

I ask because I recently grew a batch grown on straight Hpoo and they didn't bruise whatsoever. I have numerous grows under the proverbial belt but have never encountered fruits that dont bruise at all. Ah well, we'll see.

Yes, I have quite white cubes all the time. It depends on how hard I handle them and how quickly they dry on the dehydrator. I can make them blue more, by rubbing them or putting them on the dehydrator for an hour, then turning it off for about 12-24 hours before finishing the drying. Then they get real blue on the bottom (in the shape of the grill of the trays too, sometimes).

But if I am gentle with them, and dont squish them with the trays, and they dry quickly and immediatly from picking, then they are fairly white, and still just as potant. These are incredibly potent Pan Cyans, They have almost no blue..they were thin though and so dryed quickly, and I treated them nicly..If I rubbed them though, those ones would blue..

As most of you know, the primary "active ingredients" in mushrooms are psilocybin, psilocin, and to a lesser extent, baeocystin and norbaeocystin (among others).

Keyword there : Lesser....

And that one species that they mentio later has higher amounts of beo. but it says nothing more than having more than the other alkoids (sp?)

Just some FYI
