I have a Q about tennstud's presterilized stuff.

It's mentioned that it already contains the perfect moisture content to spawn directly. But ive read how alot of people like to mix in field capacity verm when they do it themselves to increase the casings water capacity, is this necessary? Are the risks of making it too wet high enough to forget that verm?

Its not needed at all, it just fluffs it up a bit for those of us going for OPTIMAL..you can easily use it without just fine though.

However, they say at the bottom of the page something about they provide any mix of straw, verm and horse poo you want. You could probably order 30%verm/70% dung prepasteurized or pasteurized..

By the way everyone going to order or just ordered, dont forget to take advantage of their buy 2 get 1 free special to all shroomery members..so you buy 10 pounds of something, you get 5 free...

so on that note, would it be better to go with straight dung (or the 70/30 dung/verm) instead of the 50/50 dung/straw? im under the impression the straw is for faster colonization times... is there anything else it provides?

that is the same thing both ways because TennStudd only comes in 5lb bags.  So, they will send you 2x5lb bags and then a third 5lb bag for free.

how do you mention your a shroomery member? do you write it on the order form when ordering through the mail? or do you have to email him with your order info or what?

Theres also a box for "special comments to the seller" if you buy online through paypal..just mention it when you order, on whatever order form, or PM lunaloca.

I would never get anything with straw added in. Just order STRAIGHT dung..or 30%verm, 70% dung if you really want. Personally I add the verm myself. Poo is already ALOT straw and will already colonize very quickly, especially with verm mixed in.
