also I am planning on grafting lophos ii on them indoor what kind of light should use after the grafts have healed? can I use a terrarium to grow them in? and if so does anybody know where I could get info on building one?

cacti dont liek humid conditions so terrarium doesnt make a whole lot of sense. if you do soem research google mush mush and he has a good graftign guide aswell as some links. you can use rootign hormone for your cuttings but pereskiopsis are forgiving. they also tollerate a more soily medium as compared to other cacti this migth help them grow faster but use clay as to prevent rot.

peace

You really dont even need rooting hormone for this cacti. Just plant them in a smallish container, their rootball is extremely small. I use planters that are about 2.5 in in diameter and even that is overkill. As stated in the previous post there is no need for a terrarium. Cacti love HPS lighting, but for rooting cuttings I use a few 42w CFL's. You should be fine with a few close CFL's long term if you can't afford a HPS light

btw, www.thenook.org is also a good place to research.

Also for the soil I use a mix of sand:perlite:soil in a ratio of 1:1:1

Pereskiopsis is the greatest for doing grafts. You can take a slow growing cactus and put it on a peres and it will explode in growth. I have plenty of extra if someone wants to trade.

just stick it and moist soil in a week viola. Let it grow and get some shoots and a bunch of new leaves before grafting. And dont water a few days prior to grafting.
