where should I make holes for air exchange?

you should put one hole close to the top, and another in the bottom, close the the perlite layer, and run Co2 tube into top, i used this once with great success.

you should only put one or two small holes near the bottom of the terrarium, big enough so that water doesn't bead up, yet not too big.... CO2 is what you want out of the terrarium and that is heavier than air... therefore you want the holes at the bottom so it can leak out... also, you may still have to fan to get rid of "dead-air" pockets
