G2G with yellowing jars?
    #4630238 - 09/07/05 04:28 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

I know that yellow stuff is mycellium waste, but there is a fair amount accumulating at the bottom (comes about 20% up the jar on one side). Can I still use the top layer for G2G (no sign of yellow, just white grain)? Thanks

Sounds fine to me. I would assume that you could even use the entire jar to G2G. When you shake around the jar the waste will get dispersed and be in a small concentration--hopefully too low to affect growth.

They are still good for G2G. Next time, when fully colonized, if you don't put them to use, stick them in the fridge - to stall -- them, they last a lot longer - that way.

cover the lid for sure though...easiest method I have found is a cheapo sandwich baggie and a rubberband...if Its the nasty food fridge I will also put them in a rubber tub.

I wanna get a fridge only for the jars and stuff and stick a hepa on the intake<comments>

Fridges work great . I have one for nothing but LC's and syringes and prints,

And run HEPA filters in every room of the house

If anyone is interested in some HEPA filters, I passed on three at the local Goodwills yesterday, I already have 7,lol.

We'd have to think of some way to send shipping though. I like to be able to sleep at night so only two peeps from here have my addy. Not that I don't trust peeps, well OK, it is, I don't trust anyone really. Not that anyone would purposely turn someone in. But if someone does get in trouble, don't want my name and addy still on someone computer or something. That's why I haven't taken some of my friends up on there most generous offers of prints and such. Like I said, I just like to be able to sleep at night.

Peace,Love,Happiness and Harmony.

What does the yellow stuff look like. yellow and clear = myc piss but when it comes to grain if it's yellow and cloudy almost thick looking it can be a bacterial contam so keep a eye open
