Large aborts <!> ?
    #4540859 - 08/16/05 01:18 AM (18 years, 6 months ago)

Well, so my friend from Alpaca is again relying on me to do research for her.  Damn... she's pushy.     anyway she told me she had aborts the other day from a cake, that were longer than an inch, and the heads were at least 1&1/2 cm in diameter!  WOW. i said.  I thought that aborts had to be tiny... or at least stop growing after a half inch...  she said they were the largest aborts she'd seen, they stayed the same size over night, and the caps had a greenish tint around the edges.  sounds like aborts to me.  is this common?

I think aborts were depicted as tiny to show you that they can abort when they're as small as those.

I have had the same question for a long time.  I too have had large aborts not small ones but ones that get 2 inches tall and then abort :frown:,  any clarity on this would be much appreciated.

Aborts can be big or small. on my last flush of burma the amount of aborts was insane. i had around 6 ounces of 10-14" mature mushrooms. i thought i was done picking until i ran into a couple hundred 2-6" aborts. i beleive they get starved competeing for the nutrients and gives up growing to the bigger ones.
