Reactions to awkward people
    #4628232 - 09/06/05 11:36 PM (18 years, 6 months ago)

Do any of you ever get a nervous/anxious/embarrased feeling when you are in a group setting and one of the people is obviously acting in a way that the group isn't approving of? It can be someone who is butting in a lot, saying stupid things or just generally not going with the flow. I can't STAND to see this type of stuff. When I'm in a group of new people and one person keeps saying jackass / stupid things, I feel embarassed myself. Or when you are talking about something, the whole group is talking about something, and someone is saying "yea, I know" and procedes to talk as if they really did know, but clearly they are WAY off base and subject and nothing that they are saying makes any sense at all. I just hate dumb people.

I usually have to keep myself from laughing at people like that. What I really hate is when people that are really fucked up repeat themselves constantly, or if they just don't know when to shut up. I know a few people that are cool as hell when sober or high, then they get drunk or take some pills and I can't stand them.

Dumb people are the bane of my every waking moment.

And they're everywhere.

Dumb People != Awkward people. I know a lot of cool 'dumb' kids who just have street smarts to their name.

I hate dumb people too. They usually just say the most ignorant idiotic things without even realizing it. You should not feel akward for being one of these types of people though. I mean, acting in a way 'the group' isn't approving of is highly fucking ignorant but you'd be surprised how forgiving and accepting people are after you realize 'the group' is an illusion that only existed in your extremely limited perspective in the first place.

Dumb people = my anti-'group'

I don't hate dumb people as much as people who constantly lie. At least meaningful communication is possible with a dumbass. With a liar, its impossible to really communicate, they are sending too much false information. You have no way to decifer the honest from the dishonest statements. A dumbass might inadvertantly give you false information, because of sheer ignorance, but he is still truthful about himself and his feelings.

I try to stay away from those who will not exchange a mutual flow of information. There doesn't seem to be any point to talk to them... other than your own enjoyment. And, its hard to respect someone and have a relationship with them when you see them as nothing more than entertainment.

I used to be an honest dumbass.
I hung around the wrong 'group' though.
I didn't 'flow' right.
So they cut me down whenever I opened my mouth.

Now I'm a LIAR.
I dont get cut down anymore.
Now the world is my entertainment.
