These are my pics of my flat cake made up of three pf style hawaiian cakes
that I sliced into three equal parts.( Sliced one of the parts in half to fit on the plate) I noticed that most flat cakes have
most of the shrooms around the edges and very little on the top, so I thought
that I would try something new and create more edges. I covered a paper plate
with verm and then cased the top of the cake with more verm.
I also filled in the gaps with a little verm. The first pic is a few days after pinning. The last picture is right before the harvest. Total was 367 grams wet.

not too shabby... interesting hypothesis also.
Wonder if it has anything to do with the mycelium trying to grow more once it reaches the edges, resulting in producing more pins in those areas?

I think what causes that is light reaching the side or uncovered or thinly covered mycelium from the sides. I use trays for seedlings or clones and get great even flushes. But then I have never done the flat cake tek just my thoughts on things.
