Okay, Let Me See If I Got This Down...
    #4627893 - 09/07/05 12:20 AM (11 years, 2 months ago)

I live in extreme northern GA, about 25 miles from the NC border, maybe 30-40 from the nearest TN border (Union County to be specific).

I know that psilocybe cubensis are available now. I have several cow pastures just literally right down the road from my home.

I plan to go on a little hunting trip as soon as conditions allow me to.

According to weather.com, the next rain will be this coming Sunday. According to what I have read at this site, the best time to look for mushrooms would be Monday night since it would be sunny and warm that day.

I just wanted to double-check to ensure that I am correct in my assumption.

Thanks, and incredible website by the way.

You are WAY too far North for cubes to be considered common. It's rare to find the north of say, Conyers/Monroe, GA. I wouldn't get my heart set on finding them, if I were you.

Oh, that really sucks! I had no idea.  :frown:

Well then, are there any psychedelic mushrooms that grow in my area at all?

Damn, that really is a bummer...

Yo pan, assuming u've been through the geography of georgia, if u happen to be in the piedmont areas of northern georgia weilii season is about to start flairing, they grow in finely cut and well taken care of bermuda grass, and also in redclay covered with loliboli pine. weilii are said to be more potent than cubensis as cubensis does not contain baocystins while weilii does. cubes are nothin like weilii so dont expect a very similar trip. they are also hella more intense so i advise u (if u find any b/c they are difficult to spot) that when u do find some to take a small-medium dose to test your limits. have fun lookin for those weilii!!!

ForeverTwiztid, no I am not in the Piedmont areas.

I live in Blairsville, GA (Union County). Here is a map of where in GA I am located: http://tinyurl.com/dsc6b

Here is a map with a little more specifics: http://tinyurl.com/8gfo7

Do you think that weilii's will grow in my area?

actually u are in the peidmont area, but im not sure how far north weilii get. a 15-20 min ride down to fulton or a metro county will garuntee u some weilii when we get some rain and the right temps, as for where u are im no expert i'd ask gumby or another one of the mods about that, but from what i see u are in the peidmont which is mostly rich red clay soil so i assume that u would be able to find them in your area on the right day
