Quick Question ....

Hi all, my grandmas friend told me she has some eq cakes that have been going for about 2 months now, the cakes are starting to turn blue"ish" gray in the tops, now could this be caused by misting them and the water droplets landing on the top causing them to blue like when you pick a mushroom. she says only lately they have begun to look more gray, could this be the healing process? or are they all infected?...thanks

my guess is that they could have dried out (blue can mean lack of water) on top and the grey is either cobweb mold(?) or you're just seeing dead mycelen.
