humm.... well...
sofar i've got these cd's:
Freddie Hubbard - Red Clay (1970) (pretty good but i was looking for something more intense)
Erik Truffaz - Mantis Erik Truffaz - Saloua (2005) i really like both of these...
Herbie Hancock - Possibilities (2005) (not really what i was looking for but pretty interesting)
Herbie Hancock - Headhunters (i was thinking about this cd when i made this post so thanks for helping me find it!)
Dj Krush & Toshinori Kondo - KI-OKU (too ambiant and laid back... but i'll probably keep it for when i want some ambiant music i dont really have to listen to )
sun ra - Space Is The Place (crazy cacophony... very interesting but hard to listen to)
that's it so far... thanks for everyone who contributed! i'll be checking some of the rest when i crave for some more jazz sounds!

amon tobin - premutation
I dont think he uses any live instruments, but he makes very jazzy beats.

imma bump this
ornette coleman - the shape of jazz to come
don cherry - mu (this album is so fucking raw it makes my head spin, i wanna shake the drummer's hand)
jan jelinek - loop finding jazz records (this album is hard to pigeonhole, mellow minimalist/ambient techno that uses jazz samples.. i guess)
squarepusher - hard normal daddy, feed me weird things, music is a rotted one note
sun ra - atlantis (this album isnt as cheeky as space is the place ... thank god but anyways, this album is seriously a classic in electronic and jazz music)

John Zorn indeed!!! following this thread i also DLed a Bugge Wesseltoft cd called "Bugge Wesseltoft & Sidsel Endresen - Out Here In There" and i have to say it's VERY interesting... very weird but it's something i've never heared befor so that's a BIG plus... i dunno... its a mix of poetry with slow sounds and some singing... very heavy vibe...
LOL i just read a reviwe on this cd and my description is SO lacking in comparison haha... whatever...

I don't really know what acid jazz is, or rather, where the margins end/begin. But i'd recomend Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. I'm not too fammiliar with him so it's possible not all their songs sound jazzy, but these songs you should enjoy, I'd think they are pretty acid jazzy: Earth Jam < thats my favorite Slow Groove
