how long will qts of rye take to colonize?

i knocked up 7 qts of rye grain last week on tuesday..checked yesterday and all had several spots with myc growth,but i thought they would be faster...seem kinda slow..i used magash's rye tek..right down to the bandaids ,this was my first time doing rye and i used my own syringes i made form one of my spore prints..there is growth so i am excited to see my prints and sryinges were good...just not going as fast as i had planned...btw they are in a TIT...any thoughts would be appreciated

maybe your moisture content of your jars is off.

what temps are you colonizing your jars at?

and a LC will only give you 2 to 3 days of a jump start over a spore syringe.

Maybe only 2-3 days if you are only adding 1-2cc, but leave your grain purposely dry and add lots of LC and you will be amazed. Some of my spores on grain took almost 2 weeks to show growth.

This jar is 4 days old with 2.6kg of wet grain


These are 3 days old with about 400g of wet grain each
