IT
    #4624375 - 09/06/05 01:47 AM (18 years, 6 months ago)

A friend recently told me I could not find "IT" in a relationship.

Wayne Dywer commented that when he was in high school, he though playing football would be it. Then he though a date with the high school hottie would be it. Later, he thought graduating college, getting married, having a child, getting his first book published, success & wealth - all of these he thought would be it, but were not.

IT being that certain something that fills the void or gives ultimate satisfaction or offers peace of mind.

Yet, I have never know anyone personally that found the Kingdom of Heaven, so we keep gathering experiences, taking drugs, buying fast cars, seeking thrills and going through lovers and gurus and books trying to find that missing piece.

Not sure if we are just wired to be that way or if there really is an IT to be discovered.

*Pardon, gotta pop in a DVD and smoke a bowl - this next movie just might be IT*

And all the while, they search for IT all over the world, all their lives... While never stopping to look within.

It's like a game of hide-and-seek with ourselves.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

Swami, You are just hanging with the wrong crowd. (including yourself ) I have two friends who live in "it" most if not all of the time. You know one of them yourself. I am living in "it" much more then before and now believe I am "it". I will continue to get the fuck out of my way.

Now it's true the wiring gets harder and harder the longer you believe something. We can dig very deep ruts in a lifetime of repeated thinking and behavior patterns. The Warriors way is to challenge yourself to change this. The payoff is freedom. Freedom means nothing to one who never had a taste of it because it's a concept in the head and so cannot be felt. Once you feel freedom; just a taste, then you will begin.

Courage brother. Listen to your friend.

Perhaps you can't find IT because you already are IT, or are at least an extenstion of ITs will (similar to a character in a computer game being the extension of the player's will).

If this is the case, there is really nothing to achieve, which really isn't as a depressing statement as it sounds. This is why that faster car, more drugs, new experiences, etc. don't cut IT for you. You can pursue all these things with due pleasure once you no longer need them to fulfill you.

Some things are no to be searched for, they have to be admited/allowed/accepted to be. I think, IT is one of these things.

This pre-supposes that there is a void, that ultimate satisfaction is possible and/or even desirable, and that peace of mind can be found in something.

IMO the key to enjoying life more (probably more the IT you are referring to ) is to quit telling Life what you will accept and what you won't.  Surrender.  Let Life take you in its arms and make sweet love to you.  This is joy, this is bliss.  This is IT.

Why not. You are dead anyway. Playing it safe you cannot, your body will die no matter what. The energy that manifests in your being cannot be destroyed. The personality is not permanent, it is just a temporary vehicle for experience. Use it before you lose it. :mushroom2:

Since we cannot control the natural disasters, accidents, murders, diseases, physical malfunctions,etc... which will end our lives eventually, why not relax?

Why not surrender?

LOL

I think you are confused, my dear!

Or perhaps you already know that surrendering to life does not mean parking your brain?  If you want to choose resistance and neurosis, no one will stop you.  Your life has meaning to you, or not.

And a trip to fluffyland with BlueCoyote wouldn't hurt...;)
