Commercials cause the zombification of brains.

Commercials are manipulative 30 second garbage heaps, but I will admit that Geico commercials make me giggle now and then. Doesn't mean they dont piss me off though.

The purpose of commercials is to advertise and make you want to go
buy their product, isn't it?
I don't know about anyone else, but I have never in my life felt the
need to buy a product that I have seen on television.
Perhaps with the occasional exception of food.

Me and my friends usually make fun of every commercial just to make it bearable. We will always somehow turn a commercial into a joke, or point the obvious stereotypes they use, or the marketing they think will work. It makes it bearable, but lately sometimes Ive just been muting it.

Commercials suck. They're lying and manipulating people for a living. Plus, most of them are boring or annoying, and waste my time while I'm trying to watch a show. The few that are entertaining usually have nothing to do with the product they're selling. But I do have some good news...
...I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.

I've found this the best way to end the headaches from commercials. They are so loud and intrusive.

Except for occasional Adult Swim and the History/Discovery Channel, the whole point of TV is so you would watch more TV. In the end, its all one big giant commercial.

i disagree i think the purpose of commercials is to make you aware of the product once you are aware you are more likely to buy it simply because it is more familiar when you go to the store are you more likely to buy pepsi, or generic soda? are you more likely to stop at a mcdonalds or "speedyburger"?
that being said i do hate commercials and do my best not to watch them. if i do i try to pick them apart and see how they are trying to get my attention. i like to focus on the music in the background, and the tone of voice of the announcer, which i believe usually say more about how they are trying to sell the product than the actual words used
