I have opened one of my bags with Pl. tuberregium and left it in the fruiting chamber. The mycelium grows exponentially. Note that the volume of the mycelium is now four times the volume of the substrate! Also note the rhizomorphs shooting in the air.

Nice! I'd like to see the mature fruits, too! Keep us posted. Also can we have some info on substrate, colonization time and temps, methods of transfer, whatever you'd like to share? Thanks!
JD

This is a proprietary strain that I have received for testing. I have colonized it from agar slant directly to wood chips substrate. It was hunted in Nigeria and then hybrids were made. I was not supposed to open the bags. I should have left them in a dark place for 6 month and then harvest the sclerotia. I opened two bags to see if they will fruit, since the temperature in the fruiting chamber in August is 30C. At the moment they just keep growing mycelia like crazy and no sight of pinheads. I used the same standard substrate one would use for Shiitake - 80% wood chips, 20% bran and 1% gypsum (GGMM). I don't see humidity problem, there is no condensation on the mycelium. Colonization time was one month for the bag and another month for the "cloud".

This cloud must be loaded with antibiotics, since nothing seems to affect it, including dead flies that were trapped in the cloud.

I am going to put some substrate near the cloud to see if it is going to be inoculated. Time is running out, the temperature is dropping.
