Plain water. The nutes come from the random objects themselves. No nutrient solution such as karo water or manure tea was ever used. That would lead to contaminants.

Yea, cotton is good fungi food. It can be used 'as is' as a substrate material. It's about on a par with coir. However, on the bra project, it was soaked in plain water at 160F for an hour. It was then wrapped around a five gallon bucket with the snap hooked on the back side of the bucket. The cups were filled with compost and spawned with rye grain. The padded cotton of the cups served as the casing layer. It was then left on the five gallon bucket in a mini greenhouse until it had fruited. As Paul Harvey used to say, now you know the rest of the story.

:rofl2:
that is THE most disturbing photo I have seen in a long time! Should send it into some bizarre porn site.
I can see some guy finding it someday googling for "masked transvestite with mushrooms growing out of tits".

Thats going in for a nomination!

Cubes can feed on paper as well as they feed on manure. Try it.
