touching colinized cakes

now, as i was told, don't touch fully colonized cakes, because it kills the mycellum in that area, and no mushrooms will grow on those areas, and if you have to touch it, touch it in the same spot all the time.

is that true or what?

well, you want to handle cakes as little as possible. The mycelium will recover in a couple of days from bruising. Mushrooms could still grow in those spots after the mycelium recovers.

You should only have to touch the cake a couple of times. after birthing, and right before placing into the terrarium after a dunk and roll. After that, avoid touching it at all.

I wear rubber gloves when i handle anything in my terrarium/cakes. Would this prevent brusing or does the brusing occur from the slight pressure of your fingers?

Rubber gloves will not stop bruising, no. It is pressure.
