Reducing Indoor Pollution

My apartment is completely and totally dust ridden to the point that it's causing some respiratory unwellness....
what can you do to clean the air of a place? I mean I have an "air cleaner" which does little good.... dusting in and of itself doesn't really seem to be enough.

Om Namah Shivaya, I tell you What!

If you can, invest in a good vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter and use the attachments instead of dusting. Dusting only moves crap around, it doesn't get rid of it.
I don't know if the filter you have on your air cleaner is HEPA or not, but 3M also makes a comperable one called Filtrete that fits their small to medium-sized air cleaners. You can also get these Filtrete filters to fit your Central air unit, if you have one. Hope this helps!

where is the dust coming from? You must wipe everything that is dusty, use windex and damp towels.

Most of the dust that collects in your home is actually dead skin cells.
*Wash your sheets frequently, *Get a vacuum cleaner with a good hepa filter *Change your AC filters once every season *Try to clean on a regular basis *If you smoke cigarettes, smoke outside
I've also noticed that ever since I've had my two cats in this one-bedroom, there's been so much more dust.
If you have a dryer in your apartment, make sure the vent is properly sealed and has no holes in it, and that the airflow to the outside is not obstructed by birds' nests or other debris.
Have you checked for mildew and mold in your place that could also be contributing to respiratory problems? Many old places have an abundance of black molds which are very harmful to humans when the spores are inhaled.

actually yes i think i have mold on the corners of the bathroom... i've poured fuckloads (on accident) of bleach on it on a few occasions though.....
i don't know if that works. thanks for the tips though... most of the dust (and DIRT) got here from having windows open.

can you catch this from just normal indoor molds? I feel like I may have some of the symptoms, but then again I may not, as a foggy brain is most likely from herb... i've had muscle/joint issues since before I lived in the apartment (presumably at least) ...... and the respiratory issues could just be from dust and allergens and such...
but it has me a small bit worried now.

First you should really do your best to clean up your place and see if any of your respiratory problems continue.
Smoking pot could be a contributor, too
If you are particularly worried, this may be something best discussed with a doctor. I am not a fan of 'diagnosing,' but a doctor is probably the best person to pinpoint what exactly you are suffering from. Have you ever been tested for any allergies? That I think would be the second step to discovering where your respiratory problems may be coming from. It could end up as just seasonal or other airborne allergies, if after cleaning thoroughly your conditions do not improve.
OH, and I highly doubt you have mycotoxicosis (but I'm no doctor )

Plants, Air Filters on your A/C changed regularly, and a good ionizer (which you also have to change filters for regularly).

of those plants will all of them generally purify the air even though it says they remove only one specific pollutant each?
