smells like feet

a FOAF innoculated several cakes with Treasure Coast Nov. 6, and still hasn't seen signs of colonization--using classic PF Tek to the letter. 3 days ago he added a heating pad to boost temp to 80-84. Still nothing. Opened a jar just to see what's up, moist, a little dense, dumped out the top verm, unclumped with a fork, let sit, now smells like feet, so, i guess he is at least on his way to growing, umm, mold?

If it truly smells that bad!! Start over you have grown bacteria

at least he succeded at growing something! thinking the other jars are fine, will just take some time. Meanwhile, another, faster colonizing strain might be in order.

Try to use less water and make sure your verm layer is kept very dry.
