Well I'm back...
    #4617114 - 09/03/05 06:14 PM (18 years, 6 months ago)

Sort-of. Some of you may remember my post before the storm hit saying tht I was going to stick it out. Many people told me not to stay, but I did anyway. Wathing the storm from my front porch was undescribable. The sheer, emense energy of 160+ Mph winds blowing all around you is something totally unforgettable. It was all fun and interesting though, until trees started literaly falling through the house. I cannot describe the sound that a 2 ton tree makes when it falls 50 feet straight through the roof, cieling and onto the floor.

It was awesome. It was frightning.

I stayed for the storm, but my home is virtully destroyed until FEMA comes (God only knows when), and there won't be power for weeks at the very least so I am staying with my folks for a few weeks.

At least everyone I know is OK...

So how accurate is the news coverage, in your estimation, from what you've seen?

Thanks for letting us know you and your family are okay. Sorry about your house. Sweet you have family to stay with. I like the waves of relief I experience every time I see a shroomerite who stuck it out gets out and back on line. Now that you have access to the news, what are you making out of all you are seeing in other areas?

daniel and his family are ok, but they got some trees through their house too. hemostats evacuated so he is OK.

I haven't been in New Orleans, but as far as I can tell from friends accounts, I don't think even the the news is even letting on to the real extent of the problems that there are down there.

A few cops I have talked to old me that they are issuing citizens handguns and taking them to NOLA to shoot looters.
