OK..I NEED SOME ADVICE ON CASING...
USING AN AQUARIUM...HOW MUCH PERLITE ON BOTTOM?? HOW MANY CAKES IS A GOOD NUMBER TO START WITH? CRUSH CAKES OR SLICED
CAKES? WHAT MIX IS GOOOD ON TOP? JIFFYMIX??? I HAVE SOME I WANT TO TRY BUT IM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO?

just an opinion.....
about 2 inches of perlite (pre-wetted). Add about 1 inch of water (with some h202 if you have it) and use tap water, the cholrine won't hurt your cakes but it may serve as a slight protection for bacteria

Number of Cakes? as many as humanly possible
Sliced, crumbled it won't make too much difference when you are just starting, you can perfect your techniques later on
Pure vermiculite has the major advantage of very low possibility of contamination (but it has no extra food for the shrooms so it limits growth) Its up to you, it appears that intially contamination is the primary concern, perhaps it would be better to play it safe??
Not sure about Jiffy mix myself, someone else could better answer
