They're growing! (pics)
    #4616664 - 09/03/05 04:32 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

I know it's not the biggest or best, but I'm still pretty excited! A couple of the cakes started pinning underneath so I flipped them over, hope it's okay.

Here is what I'm growing in:

it's made from PVC, plastic and duct tape. I hope to put a second shelf in it one day.

Congrads to the both of you. You should never touch a cake after it's been cased and popped into the fruiting chamber. After this first flush, double end case the cakes and you'll yield better. Nice job............

Good job, stranger!

What strain is that?

You'll want to make sure that those mushies don't stay on the perlite too long. They will get slimy, otherwise. Excellent first grow!

You have a humidifier and perlite?

I thought that you should only have one or another...

Hmm..

It's Hawaiian. I was planning on putting them on something after the first flush. They just seemed really dry after they were birthed. Took a long time to start too, about two weeks. I wish had dunked them... oh well there's next time.

Yeah, dunking them makes a world of difference, but make sure to clean out your fridge first, if you plan on cold shocking them, too. The fridge is usually full of various molds. That's a nice set-up that you have. Good luck.

Don't cold shock. That's for gourmet shrooms, and will actually slow pinning of almost all Cubensis.

It's roughly 2 1/2 ft by 3 1/2. I haven't measured it though. It could be made any size. Just cut the PVC to the dimensions you want, wrap in plastic and add duct tape. PVC bends perfectly to make the arches. I've also decided to add a light, they're growing in every direction but up.

I will TRY to leave them alone but it's going to be tough! lol I'm sure once I get a couple flushes it will be easier.

Thanks for all the great advice! This site rocks!
