need help with cubase
    #4616062 - 09/03/05 01:14 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

So I rewired reason and cubase and I can play the track within cubase, add effects etc. But how do I render/export the track to an audio file in cubase?

in reason go file>export song audio file>save as .wav or .aiff. then open up cubase and open the song or import to an instrument.

the whole point of rewiring with cubase is that I can do whatever I want in reason, following modifications directlywithin cubase and then exporting it for optimal quality. so what you're suggesting isn't an option :smirk:

I got the cubase E-book tutorial. I tried putting it as an attatchment but its too big. Let me know if you want it. I can send it over AIM or what ever you have.

? Can I run Reason 2 and Cubasis? If so, how do I sync them up?

Yes you can run them both using Rewire. You need Cubase 5.0 r4 at least to do this. Just start up Cubase first and then Reason. Now check the Rewire tab in Cubase and select the Reason outputs wich you want to use.

You can also control Reason devices from Cubase just like any other softsynth. In that case you should connect the output of the device to an output channel (1 to 64) in the Reason Audio/Midi Device. Now select that channel in Cubase's Rewire tab and you can assign a sequencer channel to it.

check it man

have your rewired tune open. make sure everything is playing correctly, ect.

then, go into cubase

select the "file" menu

choose "export"

choose "audio mixdown"

choose your format to be bounced ".wav, .mp3, .*whatever*)

choose your filename, then click "save"

easy as pie. can i get shroom?  :smirk:

*edit* - this is for use with cubase sx. if you're still using anything but sx as far as cubase is concerned, you should really step back and ask yourself why.

I just tried again, before I read this, and now it worked, just like you described  I had a wrong setting in that menu somewhere (it's sx indeed.)
thanks
