Input on contaminations
    #4615780 - 09/03/05 11:08 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

I have a casing of Pink Buffalo going and it seems to me like it has a contam of some sort I haven't seen. Any input?

Thanks for any thoughts.

I forgot to add that the casing is about 90% colonized. The Myc looks stringy to me but I thought perhaps it was just this strain. The entire casing otherwise looks healthy, until I noticed the redish, rusty colored spots. I am sure it must be contams of some sort just cannot seem to determine what it could be. Has anyone come across this stuff?

Just normal discoloration, but otherwise that looks super healthy.

Ok Thanks a bunch for the response. So I shouldn't get too excited? I just have never seen this coloration before and it got me nervous. Should I, as a precaution isolate this from my other casings? Or do you think it will be fine where it is? Thanks again.

No, you don't have to do a thing. There's no visible contamination there, so just let it completely colonize, then case.
