An awesome afternoon in the Rila mountain
    #4615453 - 09/03/05 06:07 AM (11 years, 3 months ago)

My first late-summer trip to the Rila mountain was quite rewarding.
After the heavy rains that flooded Bulgaria during the summer, the mountain was full of life and mystic powers.

I went to my favourite meadow, which hosts an enormous amount of life forms, including several interesing mushrooms.

Here they go:

Psilocybe (Stropharia) pseudocyanea:

I don't know if it is active or edible. Any info will be appreciated.

P. Semilanceata (top) and P.Strictipes (bottom):

Panaeolus acuminatus (right):

Panaeolus castaneifolius (left and middle):

The Panaeolus on the right has a very long and extremely fragile stem, growing solitary from tall grass tufts. I haven't seen anything like it before. I was too excited by the huge pile of liberty caps though, and didn't take notes or in situ pictures. Will do next time.

An interesting variation of P. semilanceata:

And finally, P. Strictipes in situ:

Note the regular shape of the cap. The stems were attached to grass roots. In my opinion, P. strictipes are as potent as the liberty caps.

That's all folks

Cool pics mate, and nice finds. Good to see some shrooms from Bulgaria!! Are the P.Strictipes very potent?

I ate about 50 liberty caps and ~15 strictipes last night and combined they got me to my first ++++ trip ever. I'm yet to check them separately but for now i can say they are real good

Hi Nice score. The Stropharia pseudocyans are not psychoactive.

Also P. strictipes is the same dosage as it is for P. semilanceata.

AS for semilanseata, most are all P. semilanceata.

Not sure about your Panaeoluls species,

But still a nice score.

It is hard to distinguish P. semilanceata form P. strictipes. They are virtually macroscopically the same tot he human eye.

You need a good powerful microscope to determine if they are strictipes or semilanceata.

Anyway, great find,

and have a shroomyd ay,

mj

Here are some micro shots of the spores.

from a suspected strictipes specimen:

and from a classic semilanceata cap:
