OSH Premium Potting Soil

thinkin of using this OSH Premium Potting Mix as a casing, anyone tried it? i think it should be fine.. ingredients are peat moss, redwood and fir products, perlite, sand, and polymer. 1 question: says ph balanced to 5.5 - 6.5.. is that good? or should it be more acidic.. from what i remember from my dad's tropical fish 5.5 is pretty acidic.. anyways should i add some hydrated lime or should i be coo?

That's too acidic. You want a ph of 7 - 7.5, or thereabouts.

thanks puscle.. any way to raise it or should i just not use it any more?

i used it on my last casing and the mycelium didn't seem to mind the acidity then again neither did the cobweb mold or green mold so maybe it isn't really that acidic.
