Help make a cheatsheet! FRUITING
    #4613305 - 09/02/05 04:54 PM (18 years, 6 months ago)

Simply Answer these questions for me about fruiting a casing.

What are the effects of too high of a temperature? too low?

What are the effects of not enough humidity? too much?

What are the effects of no enough air exchange? too much?

Describe how these conditions affect mushroom growth, size, and appearance.

There are soooo many factors to consider when you have a less than optimal flush that it would be nice to have a "trouble shooting" guide to improve your next one.

If you have time, help me put one together! thanks. Any other conditions that you want to add would help too.

ps. i know the information may be in the forum scattered around already, i just want the most up to date information all in one spot, so if you have time, help out.

thanks.

I understand what your trying to do. But all the variable you are describing might not be the same for all.. we are all in differnt situations.. you would need to make many grows under strictly controled condtions to come up with anything really accurate. Have you ever considered producing a booklet with charts for recording various variable under differnt teks. If you made up a standard chart to follow on your grows then im sure that could simplfie things much more. This is what im currently doing logging EVERTHING from the very begining. Then you simply use your notes and results to compair over time. This is something I feel you gotta do for yourself...don't you think you'd be takeing some of the FUN out of it if you didn't..or maybe im just a true nerd at heart.

too high of a temp...your casing might think its still in the colonizing mode and not go into the fruiting stage.

too low of a temp...can't tell you that one from personal experience...My grow room never gets below 73 degrees F.

too low of humidity...your casing will dry out.

too high of humidity...never have had a problem with using high humidity.

not enough air exchange...your fruits will suffer and be small and skinny...and might abort.

too much air exchange...there is no such thing as too much...they love fresh air.
the only draw back is if your humidity drops too low from it.

hope this was helpful.

What does it mean if there is a lot of myc on the stems? Could this be from the high summer heat?
