do you think its useless to be a good person?
im curious to see who thinks this, and why. im forming an opinion. in fact, i know where my heart lies without even debating the issue. ah well.
any takers?

But is there a universal sense of "goodness"?

i believe that in human nature there is nothing that says right and wrong must be determined. so no!

Depends where the intention comes from. If you want to be a good person because you want something, ANYTHING, in return, then I think it is potentially good in a small way for everyone, but definitely bad in a big way for the individual.
Consequentialists will argue that the intention makes absolutely no difference, it's the result that matters...cause and effect. I disagree with this, but I haven't been able to articulate why just yet...if anyone agrees with me and can articulate better than myself, it would be cool.

Just gotta follow the heart then. Do what is good to YOU. Of course, what is evil to you might be someone else's good to them.
