Damn Critters Need Fast Help
    #4611912 - 09/02/05 12:29 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

So my outdoor project was looking good. i received i phone call from my buddy this morning who said he awoke to our outdoor bed being thrashed by some kind of animal. He has a huge privacy fence around his whole backyard so something had to come under it. My guess is its a rabbit. when we laid our spawn it was only maybe a 1/4" deep on both layers, but he said this morning their were some 3-4" deep blocks of our compost colonized which makes me pretty happy. I am going to use what has grown in the bed so far to expand the bed from a 2' by 3' bed to maybe a 4' by 4' or so because we have tons of mycelium growing for spawn in the bad as it is. my question though... what is the best way to keep critters out of you outdoor patch? its my fault for using grain as a spawn but it was readily available and that's what i used.

There are alot of ways. You can go to a barber shop and get some hair that they swept up. Place that around your garden. You can use powdered blood in the same way. Just ask your local nursery.
