Phalaris arundinacea and space

How much space do Phalais grasses need between plants?

Does it need more space to grow than the shown picture?

Note: 14 days from planting

Phalaris grows naturally rel. tight, actually like many grasses, but it will need more place from time to time to grow good, especially if you want to get big amounts. If you give them a lot of water and from time to time something to eat (minerals) they'll grow like that good, at least for a month or so. You shouldn't forget that they have a ryzome, and potentially one of the seedlings is able to fill one of those pots in a month or even less.

BTW those seedlings look very nice ;)

Considering the amount of phalaris you need you really will have to grow a huge huge patch of it

That looks fine. They need alot of water to grow big. They usually grow near streams around here, and get pretty tall and broad.
