fruiting from jar

I have a quart sized WBS jar that I cased and am letting colonise. When it comes time to fruit it, what is the best way to do so? Also, how can I block the light from on the sides of the jar? I don't want any pins to grow and have them abort.

just wrap the outside of the jars with something like tin foil or black construction paper...etc..etc

Yes, I figured that much. But how should I fruit it? Just open the lid and mist it every now and then, or should I find something to put it in?

thats what i would do, (open the lid and mist it every now and then) tell ya the truth just live the lid off. Its 100% colonized so its pretty resistant to contaminates just keep misting the casing layer as it needs it. i think you will be fine.

Okay, here's an update:
The mycelium in the jar colonized the casing layer, and now I re-cased over that, and have initiated fruiting.
When I noticed that the first casing layer had fully colonised I saw that it was beginning to look a little fluffy, and there were some small droplets of condensed water in the mycelia on top. I hope this isn't overlay.
Anyways, after the first casing layer was completely colonised, I stuck the jar in the fridge overnight to cold-shock. The next day, I re-cased it, scraping off the "fluffiness" a little bit. Then, I wrapped the sides and bottom a few times with a heavy black trash bag and taped it up. Then, I stuck an old round fishbowl over the top to help keep in the humidity. Now, the jar is under a lamp so that the light will induce pinning. There is condensation in the fishbowl, so it seems to be working okay.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me? Should I leave it as-is, under the lamp, and mist the inside of the fishbowl every now and then(for air and humidity exchange)? Or, should I stick the jar in a small tub, and run a line into it from an ultrasonic? Any other ideas as to what I could do with the jar?

I have one fruiting in a jar WBS cased with 60/40 verm/coco. after i had myc poking through my casing i put a plastic baggie over it and just set it in the basement window sill.(never gets direct sun light but it gets enough light) this was 2 1/2 weeks ago .... on sunday i knoticed my first pin, now as of this am i have 3 small shrooms and a few more pinns growing.... My question is gonna be how to harvest? I'm using 1 qt jars but they only have a pt of WBS cased so i have like 3-4 inches down from the mouth of the jar to the surface of the caseing. Guess i'll try and just pull em out( pull and twist) when its time unless someone out there has a better idea.

Please show us some pictures. I have been trying to decide if I should fruit from the jars or take extra time and effort to do the casing.
