My Swami-esque New Orleans prediction
    #4609464 - 09/01/05 07:24 PM (11 years, 3 months ago)

What is now New Orleans will be bulldozed to the ground when the water does finally go away. The city will not relocate, however all the survivors will disperse to places elsewhere. A large city may indeed sometime form again in Louisiana, however it will be over a period of decades. Hurricane Katrina and the destruction of a city once called New Orleans will become another large mark on American history, quite possibly on the same par of 9-11.

The last generation born in New Orleans will also probably be cleverly nicknamed

Thousands of years from now, New Orleans will be the "new" Atlantis with rumors of a race of advanced beings, noble architecture and a perfect society...

The only video tapes you'll be getting out of the city for a while will be titled "Looters Gone Wild"

It's a damn shame.. there were some incredible jazz clubs down there. I was actually thinking of moving there after my last visit. :sigh:

It was the only place where you could go out for a beer, eat some good spicy food, take the beer with you to a club, mingle with a million people in varying states of intoxication, and find interesting conversation anywhere, any time of day, any day of the year.

Well, maybe not the only place, but still.

I think it's cool the French in France offered to help out, sending water purifiers and whatnot. It's very nice of them considering how lousy America has been to them the past few years.

The way I see it we got just about every American city covered by some power from the old world. If Boston ever gets flooded I hope Ireland offers to send some water Purifiers. If Pittsburgh is ever in trouble hopefully the Netherlands will donate a bundle of water purifiers. If Los Angeles ever gets in trouble I'm sure the government of Mexico will offer all sorts of aid. Oh wait, it's the spics who did all the looting last time. Ok nevermind.

I don't think that they should rebuild it on site. Move it inland and get it out of the bathtub. If they rebuild it right there we will all look so stupid when the same thing happens again.

Leave it to the French to build the only American city under the fucking water line.
