I think I must appologize. Yeah, I take things wayy to seriously. I knew I probably shouldn't have come here. I just thought there would be some rational discussion around here, and the points of view I was reading were getting me more upset. Compassion this punk, is just the attittude that has these United States in its present condition. Seems to me that we (society) feels like we are owed something, can't get it and by hurting or attacking others we feel better somehow. Yeah, this upsets me. everyday. EX: Flipping cars and smashing in people's windows is not the way to celebrate the Chicago bulls winning. Pulling an innocent man out of his truck and bashing the side of his skull in with a brick is not the way to show objection. Yet, this is the general attitude I see. I feel the need to further explain myself, but this is not the place. I'm gonna make a thread in P&MW-B. I feel that it is my mission in life, even if I am the only one to do something positive in life. Yes redstorm, I am crying, my soul is crying at the general self-distruct attitude of our society.

The death penalty for stealing something that will probably get covered by insurance anyway... that makes alot of sense. If there's some lunatic shooting looters he needs to be taken out.

So it's okay now to take someone elses property if it doesn't belong to you as long as it's some kind of emergency and essential to their survival? No, I think it's a person's responsibilty to protect their property if at all possible. Also if these people are able to loot places of business; how come their dumb asses stayed someplace where it was known that would be receiving a storm blowing winds in excess of 140-150mph? There were plenty of opportunities to get out.

The news was reporting much of the population decided to stay because many of them had no way of leaving. No cars and such.

lots of excuses for the looters.
i saw on the news that Wal-Mart has bottled-water stacked to the rafters, but I didn?t see anyone carting away bottled-water. Not baby-food, not batteries and flashlights, not camping gear or raincoats, but you can bet there aint an X-Box to be found in a New Orleans....
It makes me sick. Does anyone see Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson reminding people that this is wrong and should not occur? Has the idiot Julian Bond come out from his NAACP cultural nap and told anyone to knock it off?
Or is the prevailing attitude to be: Well, they just lost their house; the least we can do is comfort them with the third season of Six Feet Under on DVD.
Yeah I know, its for the children.

I didn't say it was OK to loot. I simply said it was not OK to start shooting thieves to death. That's Saudi Arabia's prerogative.

No, i think I wanna make my point here. I got outta line last night and apologize for it. I withdraw my statement to RF. This would be my point: I'm watching the videos, I see people crying and glad to be alive. I see people saying "I started praying real quick" and "What has come out of this is, I've decided to live a more spiritual life." I see people giving stories about how they saved people from being eaten by aligators. I have seen the views of the posts shift since I shot my mouth off. I also notice that the people who are helping are dressed, act, and carry themselves like sophisticated human beings. I see this attitude:
Quote:
Compassion this punk....
running in and out of wal-mart like the world owes them a living. Does it make you feel "bad" showing me that you own something that your responsibility can't handle? It doesn't scare me, it infuriates me. If you pulled that on me, I'd stick it up your ass and pull the trigger, it'd still have a third of your arm attached to it. The only real problem I see with that is that we'd have just one more sorry sucker that I'd hafta go to work to support. Are we not sorry for what happened at wounded knee? We're not, b/c we're still teaching our kids that this is the cool way to act.
What I ask is why do we need such a disaster to come to real terms and act and live as though we need each other? This is why I snapped last night. Read my sig. my gun doesn't sling lead...

Yeah, I don't mean to say that all medications are useless. I just mean that if you walk in to the doctors office, the first thing he wants to do is start pumping you up with pills, then he sends you to another Dr. that says "Why did he put you on this?" I've seen time and time again where people are so pumped up till they can't tell what the original problem was to begin with. I agree, I'm in the same boat, my back is litterally crumbling, I can't afford to get the medications that will help me. So, I gotta just wait till it completely degrades and I will find the help I need. BTW, I am an unemployed (I say unemployed, but I do construction work) machinist. This week I take an interview at FN (they make machine gun parts for the government) where I will have an opportunity to purchase insurance at barely affordable rates. Then I still have to pay out of pocket. This is after the government does it's hacking. So, we're back to the point, so many have this point of veiw is that the easy way to "get rich" or atleast "comfortable" is to sock the insurance agencies. Mr. Allstate is not going to pay out one dime, period, it's gonna come in. That is also why, these "ignorant" people (I'm not gonna mention color, b/c that has absolutley nothing to do with it, by and large) ack the way they do. They want you to hit them, so's dey kin colleck. And again, my question is, why do we contribute to this way of thinking rather than to do something about it in the first place? Fiddy cent, or some rapper gets shot at the MTV music awards, and it's just a hot tammale. The ratings go up. This sends a message about what will bring in $. This spawns the poor girl that I feel for on the Maury (or w/e) show that sits there sobbing her living heart out b/c she doesn't know the father of her child. Then the so called "man" comes out waving his hands all in her face sayin "Yeh, I tol u b*ch, *&^$&()&^%$789" Meanwhile there is a young child who gets the "privilage" of watching it. Let me reiterrate, to keep it o/t. I expected more from the shroomery, we need to be speaking against the ways of society, not contributing to the mentality. We are "enlightened" souls, aren't we?
