Same post I just did to another user.

You should always read the uppermost posts by the admins/moderators.
You would have read this:

II. Accurate mushroom descriptions

It is critical that you describe mushrooms fully and accurately in order to get a proper identification.

A good picture of the mushrooms is invaluable, but not required.
Along with the pictures YOU ARE REQUIRED to provide the following data:

* Habitat (where [woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude] and what [soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?)] does it grow on)
* Characteristics of the gills (color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc)
* Characteristics of the stem (length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc)
* Characteristics of the cap (diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc)
* Spore print color (very important!)
* Color that the mushroom bruises
* Scent of the mushroom
* Anything else you might find important

For more detailed guidelines for describing your finds, please view this document.

For an explanation of mycological terms please refer to this document .

So, post the details and someone may be able to help you. (I suggest you read the top posts of ALL sub forums you frequent)

well the first picture has possible subbalteatus, a mild active, take a spore print of those and tell me what color it is.

the second pictures appear to be conocybe lactea, the dunce cap, but thats only a 95% sure guess. dont eat them or expect to be on the toilet all day.

It does and it doesn't, I tried last year to identify it and narrowed it down to about 3 possibles, i can't remember which pan's they where now. My guides are like most and really only cover the common fungi but a friend has an old book with drawn illistrations which had lots of very similar pans. I'd have to get hold of the book to say more. It had slight bluing around the cap which got me interested, it looks like an active but I have only ever found that one(or really paid much attention to) so its not like I could pick enough to be of any use anyway but still interesting.

Panaeolina and Conocybes. Don't eat either type. Conocybes are possibly poisonous.

I wouldn't want to question your obvious much greater knowledge, I really only know a Liberty Cap when i see one, but I'm not convinced it is a haymaker,Panaeolina. The cap had a uniform colour, exactly the same as the one on the far right of the first pic. I could of course just be showing my ignorance.

apon closer inspection: due to the shiney stems, and how thin and long they are, ide probably have to agree with gumby that the mushrooms in the first pic are panaeolina. and yes the others are dunce caps, which are mildy poisonous.

astralasia, your pic resembles a pan subb, the stems thicker, the gills have black spore deposits, theres a spiral going down the stem, and its got every other characteristic of buff colored ( from the sun ) pan subb.
