Bush reluctantly cuts vacation "short"
    #4605750 - 08/31/05 10:51 PM (11 years, 10 months ago)

"Dammit, I was well on the way to setting a vacation record of 418 days off in office that could never possibly be duplicated! Now, I have to pretend I am concerned when I would really rather be riding my mountain bike on my ranch," sources close to the president allegedly heard him proclaim. "Isn't it enough that I toppled Saddam? Must I attend to domestic issues as well?" he is rumored to have said.

actually, he couldn,t get off the bike cause he has a dildo mounted on the seat, so when he,s riding it, and he has that shitty grin on his face, no one will be the wiser.

This post has no bearing on this forum and should be moved. Really Swami, I don't come here for sarcastic interjects at every opportunity, why don't you post this in OTD?

Do you ever feel like posting any political insight that has any relevance?

My prediction: Swami will continue to post sarcastic "nothing's" as long as this board continues to exist.

so, the president's ongoing penchant for long retreats during wartime has no bearing in political discussion?

Wit and satire carry an bit more weight when they are not the content of every single post created by a user.

For fuck's sake, I'm quite liberal and agree with Swami on pretty much everything, but the lack of intelligent contribution by him is about as bad as Los_Pepos and LSDempire's spamming of news sources with no commentary of their own.

Why would Bush cut his vacation short because of this? I thought it wasn't necessary for a President to be in Washington in order to do his job.

I guess it would look like he doesn't care if he stayed.

Just b/c Quantum's thread was worthless, it doesn't mean that this one deserves any more merit.

Bush's approval ratings are down. Human misery is always a political opportunity.

this thread raises a few points, bush has taken ridiculous amounts of time off and he had to cut it short. is he using this for political gain? discuss amongst yourselves

Though I do agree with you about how ridiculous this vacation time is, take a gander at this:

Quote:

What the Post fails to mention, however, is President Clinton's own record-setting performance as the all time globe-trotting president, especially during the time of his impeachment. Clinton's total of foreign trips -- business and pleasure -- nearly eclipsed those of his three predecessors combined, at a cost of untold millions to the American people.

http://www.spectator.org/dsp_article.asp?art_id=8610

I don't remember hearing about this when Clinton was in office.
