Straw or No?
    #4604809 - 08/31/05 08:09 PM (11 years, 8 months ago)

I have done several grows using TennStud 50/50 substrate.
I have also heard Diver giving good reviews to poo without straw. So I want to give it a shot my next grow. Afterall, straw is more contam prone than shit. What are your experiences with plain crap?

Straight horse poo is the way to go. IMO, straw wastes what could otherwise be used for nutritional space, and obviously is more susceptible to contams.

i didn't know that? I'm glad i seen this thread because i was going to go with a 50/50 substrate myself. and this will be my first bulk grow. so i would rather not take any chances.

On a side note guys: Aged and prepared horse poo is essentially very finely chopped straw, with nitrogen benefits. Knowing that and seeing the texture, I can't help but to think that adding regular straw is a risky waste, plain and simple.

I think straight straw is fine, you get 4 to 5 flushes HUGE mushrooms and i have never had a contam after the 4th flush Ive heard you could get 1 with a cap the size of your fist so the flushes are good the size the potency Maybe it is slightly less Potent But i hear the potency is really good. Maybe poogrower should think about poo haha
