Which nation will help the US after the hurricane?

A newspaper has a headline in large type-face saying "AMERICAS TSUNAMI" and an image from the hurricane. I'm wondering which nations are going to have charities set up to help us out.

Charles A. Lindbergh,"Aviation, Geography, and Race", Reader's Digest, Nov. 1939 "We must secure the existance of our people and a future for White children." David Lane

Heh, so what? Is the US a third world nation? Would you compare the American standard of living with the situation in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, India, etc? Would you like to receive development money from the UN as well? Hell, I thought the US was among the richest nations in the world...

Venezuela has offered cheap oil to those affected by the hurricane. The moron anchors on Fox News yesterday questioned whether they should accept it or not.

Oh, and I forgot: there's not only the money issue.

That's so typical of the American spoiled brat mentality. Agreed, the hurricane is a major disaster, but does anyone here remember how many people died from the tsunami? All sense of proportion seems lost here. [For those who don't: well over 200,000 died in the tsunami, how many from the hurricane? ]
This reminds me of 9/11. Agreed again, a major atrocity, but from the reaction in the US, it was obvious that this was the first occurrence in a very long time of large-scale violence on American soil. Other nations have made a lot less fuss about much worse atrocities, sometimes committed by the US or its allies.
All my respect to the victims, but such comparisons are just spoiled brats' talk.

The actual death toll from this will be in the thousands. The surge in many areas swept the land just like the tsunami did. Significant portions of 3 states now have conditions equivalent to 3rd world country standards or worse. It will take years for those areas to fully recover.
Those people need ALL the help they can get. Over a million are now homeless and jobless. This is very bad.
20 of are oil rigs in the gulf are adrift somewhere or sunk and the port plant is destroyed.
MSNBC. Watch it for a while. It's unbeleivable how the reports and footage of the devastation get worse and worse as the hours go by.

In from CNN now. The governor of Louisiana is saying in the city of NO alone, she is looking at thousands dead. That wasn't even the hardest hit area.
Now, they are discussing if the area is even worth rebuilding it's so fucked.

We might be the richest nation, but that means that instead of the water force destroying tin shanties, it's destroying millions of dollars worth of real estate. Re-building the homes that they had in Thailand isn't that costly, rebuilding the stately homes of New Orleans will be.

I don't think there is any country that can offer realistic financial help, but I hope and expect that we are offering any specialist help, such as medical personnel should the US require them.
But I doubt it will be asked for publicly, as America is a nation that prides itself on it's self-reliance.

"for once"? Are you serious? When you get your next paycheck, look at "FICA", then google "welfare dollars spent".

Australia has pledged 10 million dollars. Whether the money is accepted, I don't know? Not that America needs money. 10 million dollars gets burned up in just a few hours in the on-going Iraq War.
Australia has also sent 20 disaster experts and instead of letting them get in there to help your people, your authorities have them stuck in Houston. We are trying to help and America will not let us.
The real problem faced by your people has been a lack of potable water, food and medicine. This is very basic stuff and is best distributed by America herself.

Canada has a military!?!? No...you must be mistaken.
Oh wait...Rono was in the Canadian Navy, so I guess they just might have a war ship.
