i love and hate my car. i have a 96 vw gti and the thing is gorgeous, only thing wrong is it's an automatic. vw is known for their high quality cars, but notorious for horrible automatic transmissions! of course i had to find out myself, tranny is less than 2 years old w/20k on it and the thing constantly slips out of gear..that's why i'm gonna try to get one of the vw dealerships around here to pay off the rest of my loan.  this is what i hope to get after i heave the mk3...

the gl's are economic but then you have the 1.8t's, the vr6's, r32's 337 driver's edition. plus there are tons upon tons of aftermarket things available. i like the american styling but the euro engines have got us beat by a mile. the new r32 in europe has over 600hp 
i love the golf vr6 cause when you're gaining speed on the highway it feels like you just got launched from a slingshot, fun stuff. my bf smoked a wrx, an eclipse spider, and an older porche last week but he's got all the hp upgrades for his vr6. total it's about 300hp and it came stock with 174

this engines got about 560BHP at this time and lots of ability to increase that

I pretty much just hate my car. The thing is falling to pieces. I think i'll try and get it through one more winter and then give up on her. She's served me well and done her time. I'm looking at getting a truck sometime in the spring maybe. A diesel pickup would be nice.

there's no turbo or anything in my bf's gti yet, he's saving for a stage 3 supercharger.

sweet, i like the style of the new ones. how's it drive?
i just set up an appt to test drive an 03 gti vr6, 6 speed 200hp. i'm no speed racer but i like a little hp under the hood. my current gti is only a 2.0, it's got 115hp. interior is super nice and i love the style but i need a manual transmission. it'll be interesting on the test drive, i haven't driven a manual in over 4 years.

I use public transportation, where I'm hassled by bums for change or cigarettes(I don't smoke) everytime I take the bus. My state has the highest insurance rates in the country.

I used to have an 00 vette and it was fun and all but it got old. to low to the ground.
I had two people hit it while it was parked, so I fixed it and sold it over Ebay. I was broke all the time too. It did get good gas mileage though... 27 hwy and 21 cty
now i've got a jeep and it's not much less than the vette was cause this thing gets the shitiest gas mileage.
But between the two I like the jeep more. with the vette everybody would think I was a prick or a snob or whatever... too much negetive attention (too much attention period really) I'm not into vehicles for attention but if i'm gonna get any I want it to be good and the jeep does it good...

Good. I have a 93 hatch back but it has no additions apart from a cd player. Every other person I know does something gay to their civic. Mine is the only one with dignity. It's funny when you drive a civic, every douche bag out there with a souped up civic tries to race you. I always laugh at them and make fun of them.

in 12 years, I've owned 1 honda civic and 1 toyota t-100.
I blew out the transmission on the honda at 180k and the
rest of the car just didn't justify replacing the tranny.
the t-100 is near 180k and will surely go another 100-200k
miles.
the thing runs like a top.
my grandma got the Highlander....REAL nice.

i love and hate my 92 camry. although it looks nice because it doesnt look too old, the speed and control is crap. I want a BMW, but thats not going to happen until i become a doctor... and thats gonna be like 6-7 years from now... the end of the world could be here by then

well today gas is $2.85 a gallon here, so I have to say I like
my ford ranger, 3.0 , v6, $10.00, last all week, I only live
2 miles from work. At work I have a chevy truck that I can go
thru, $20.00 a day easy.
