im not sure but i sort of remember reading that if you had contamination on a casing you could put baking soda on the affected part to eliminate the contamination
Is this true or am i being extremely naieve and hopefull

i think ryche has something about that on his website.
also i've heard that lime can be used.
but be forewarned, that green mold will most likely be back in a short time, it's very very hard to get rid of.

yea the green plague is very hard to get rid of..ive tried at least a dozen times to rid casings of the green mold with h2o2 and it always comes back twice as bad..you may be able to succesfully rid your casings of cobweb mold and weaker contaminants but when the green mold hits you are basically doomed..i think what happens is when you try and cut away the mold and spray it with whatever to kill it off it just weakens the mycelia enough for the green to take a stronger hold..mold spores are very small and will burrow deep down into your casing when you disturb it with a knife or anything else.

where the hell you been hippie?
