>Do you even know what a light scratch is? lol...

yea, that is why I asked if it is overlayed.

This is when some do a light scratch.

Scratching deep will hurt the mycelium. You just want to scratch the surface a little, if any.

I would do a light scratch to re-open a casing which was overlaid, panned from heavy watering, exhibiting stroma, to open up an uncased substrate which had dried out such as a straw log or a shitake block, but I don't think this is what you are asking for.

I bet what you are asking for is that you do a light scratch right when the first mycelium is visible during casing colonization. You scratch lightly, and mix up the mycelium that made it to the surface with the uncolonized casing at other places on the surface. Imediately initiate pinning (or within 24 hrs).

Is that what you were looking for? Bluehelix has written about this technique and it appears that he has perfected it if you want to search for some of his posts on it...

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.
