could be... poo is too fresh and still has amonia in it(increase air exchange), ph is too low, mycelia is simply adjusting, maybe you sterilized it killing the actimicin(sp) and it has contaminated with a wet bacteria like i just did...
Is it still growing off the energy in the spawn, or is it taking hold in the dung. I had one once where it grew nice for two days, stalled, then 3 or 4 days later ryzomorphic myc showed up and took it over. maybe it's just adjusting to it's conditions.

the first pics look good but this second set you say is a few days later looks pretty brown, not like the very white growth in the first. whats up with that, has the myc died back or what? any odors eminating from it? do the exposed areas of poo feel wet?

no odors but seemed pretty dry to me?but the weird part is like 2 days ago it was like dripping from the top of the lid onto the myc,,,could this be the problem? It also seems to be pulling away from the sides of the box

had you previously been misting it? you don't need to mist during colonization. you should leave it covered with something that has some holes.

I use shallow tubs and cut a hole with a doorknob drill bit which is 2.5 inches in diameter in the top and tape tyvek over the hole You need a smaller hole if you are using a shoebox type container
