rained earlyer this morning and will rain later on so ide like to figure out if this is an active mushroom.
it looks kinda like Psilocybe caerulipes (as far as i can tell) i will have a spore print later tonight (will the spores fall within 5 hours or must i leave it for a longer period of time?). i found this mushroom in my lawn, i live on long island new york. i found it alone underneath pear and apple trees and its not a great quility (decompising kinda, holes in the cap) but it was the best one i could find. (and i found it in the front yard so your right, no dog crap shrooms for me)

(this is the size of it compared to a sheet of computer printer paper)

thanks

(sry bout some pictures bein of crap quality)

Indeed inactive.
Psilocybe caerulipes doesn't grow in your area, and LBMs like that can be difficult to ID even to genus.

Good luck,
and Happy Shrooming!  :mushroom2:

k i found another spot of some which might be different ill get some picures of those

*just went to look at those ones and they have white gills. i read somewhere that i should avoid mushrooms with white gills cause they are toxic. is this true for all cases? i left them where they where and my camera ran out of juice so i couldnt get a shot off.
