Coffie filters

I have 20 or so pf/rice/Vern jars colonizing right now on half I opted to use coffee filters to cover the holes on the lids of the jars. Am I just wasting paper?? Is this preventing any contams at all??

are you just now pressure cooking? If so, then the coffee filters might let water in which could result in contams.

Also, wouldn't that absorb the moisture and definitely hold water in escaping?

I use them to keep big dust particals off my polyfil/tyvek on the bigger jars, and they are easy to write on. Its not needed for the PF-TEK but wouldn't hurt it either.
